Our April 27th National Education Association members from across the country will be pushing Congress to protect our retirement security. We’re asking members to participate in local lobbying efforts or call and email your congressional representatives.
In addition to telling Congress to protect Medicare and preserve Social Security, we’re asking members to tell their elected officials they should repeal the Government Pension Offset Provision and Windfall Elimination Provision. These provisions penalize public employees and their spouses who try and collect social security, and will likely affect one in three educators. Read more about these provisions here.
