Calling All Troublemakers!

On Saturday April 8th join union members, shop stewards, organizers, and community activists from across the Pacific Northwest for a day of skill-building workshops and strategy discussions to create a stronger workers’ movement in our region. The school will be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 290 Training Center, 20210 SW Teton Ave in Tualatin, OR.

The Labor Notes School will offer workshops from Secrets of a Successful Organizer, the “go-to” book for worker activists. Learn how to map your workplace and identify leaders, turn an issue into a campaign, take on a bullying boss, and inspire your co-workers into action. Other topics on the agenda: Labor/Community Alliances Done Right; Organizing Under Right-to-Work; Talking Taxes: What’s Next After Measure 97; Labor in the Trump Era; and Organizing for the Schools Our Students Deserve.

Sponsors include: NALC 82, LIUNA 483, UA 290, ATU 757, ILWU Local 4, AAUP Portland State University, Reynolds Association of Teachers, Portland Association of Teachers, Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Practitioners, Southwest Washington Labor Council, and Portland Jobs with Justice.
